Debit Card Upgrade

This January, Citizens National Bank will upgrade our debit card system. This upgrade will allow us to order, monitor and maintenance cards using one integrated program. Once implemented, we will be able to respond to your debit card inquiries and requests quicker and more efficiently. All existing VISA debit cards will be converted to MasterCard debit cards. During the week of January 14, 2013 you will receive a replacement debit card in the mail at no cost to you.

We expect you will have questions. Here are some answers.

Q: When will I receive my new MasterCard debit card?
A: You will receive you new debit card no later than January 18, 2013

Q: When do I begin using my new MasterCard debit card?
A: Use your new card beginning Monday, January 28, 2013
(Your existing Visa debit card will not work after Sunday, January 27, 2013)

Q: How do I activate my new MasterCard debit card?
A: We offer several methods for activating your card.
On or after Monday, January 28, 2013:

  • Call (866) 633-5293 and follow the instructions, or
  • Perform a PIN based transaction using your new PIN at a retail merchant, or
  • Use this card at any ATM

Q: Will I receive a new Personal Identification Number (PIN)?
A: Yes, you will receive your new PIN a few days after you receive your new card.

Q: Can I change my PIN?
A: Yes, we offer two convenient methods to change your PIN.
On or after Monday, January 28, 2013:

  • Call (866) 633-5293, or
  • Visit a Citizens National Bank Branch

Q: What do I do with my old Visa debit card?
A: Destroy your old card by cutting through the magnetic strip on the back and the card number on the front and throw the pieces away in different trash receptacles or shred.

Q: What should I do if I have payments that are automatically charged to my debit card?
A: When you receive your card, contact your payments vendor and provide the new card number.

Although we have taken every measure to ensure there will not be any interruption of service for your debit card as we upgrade our systems, we recommend you carry an alternate form of payment between Friday, January 25, 2013 and Monday, January 28, 2013
