Woody began his banking career in 1973 as a debt collector with Bossier Bank and Trust in Bossier City, LA. He was soon promoted to Loan Officer and then to Assistant Branch Manager. In 1976, Woody accepted a job with United Mercantile Bank where he managed 6 branches. Woody soon followed another opportunity in 1981 as he began a 10 year period with American Bank and Trust as Vice President in charge of lending and eventually rising to President. After a 10 year period removed from banking to pursue other career opportunities, Woody found himself returning to his banking roots in 2001 with a position as a Senior Vice President and Business Banking Manager of Northwest Louisiana at Capital One Bank. In 2008 Woody was offered the President and CEO position at Citizens National Bank where he continues to serve in that capacity.
A 1968 graduate of Fair Park High School, Woody continued his education at Northwestern State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. While at Northwestern State, Woody played baseball as a 4-year letterman and served as an officer on many university clubs. For recognition of his performance on the baseball field, Woody was ultimately elected to the Northwestern State University Athletic Hall of Fame and served as President of the Graduate N Club. Woody has also completed the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
Woody has the distinction of serving as this year's Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce Chairman, a role as a banker that he enjoys as he continues to be able to give back to the community.
